ENI

The European Neuroscience Institute Göttingen (ENI) is committed to the promotion of independent young researchers distinguished by high standards of scientific excellence. It is housing several independent research groups performing basic research in the neurosciences. Most ENI group leaders leave ENI and are appointed to a position as full professor.

The Institute is devoted to supporting experimental research with the aim to understand the mechanisms of brain functions in health and disease. Topics range from molecular and cellular physiology, neuronal circuit analysis and optogenetics to computational and cognitive neuroscience. Current work at the ENI focuses on physiology, sensory processing and plasticity in multiple species ranging from invertebrates to humans.
